Please note these new procedures:

In order to provide a better service to the public we now have a dedicated phone line for people interested in adopting a dog from the Shelter. Please call 07748 629202 between 11am and 4pm (not Wednesdays) and you will be able to speak to one of our trained dog staff who will pleased to have a friendly chat about your situation and any dog you're interested in. We may then arrange for you to come in to meet a dog in person (note: last available time to do this each day is 3.15pm) Please do not use this number at any other time and we cannot respond to text messages. Please DO NOT use this number for any other RSPCA query. It is only for people interested in adopting a dog from Little Valley.

Please note: the Shelter does not rehome dogs to families where there are children under the age of 5. If you have a holiday coming up, please call us on the above number prior to your visit so we can discuss when is the best time for you to visit.

Please follow the work of dog staff at the Shelter and donate to our dog training appeal.

Heidi
Heidi
Heidi

We are looking for an extra special home for this extra special dog.

Meet Heidi.  She is a 5 year old (approx.)  collie cross with the sweetest nature.  Unfortunately Heidi has had a tough time of it up until now and arrived at the shelter with a severe skin condition that had not been treated.  She had also had little positive interaction with people so was very withdrawn and found everything quite difficult.  The only thing Heidi is used to is other dogs and this is when you get a glimmer of her personality that we know is just waiting to burst out.  Having been with us about 1 month now, we have got her skin condition under control and feel she is now at a point where what she really needs is a permanent home with some very understanding owners who have the time and patience to put in to help this very deserving dog.

She does have some specific requirements for her new home, the most important being at least one other dog in the home.  Also she would suit a more rural environment and a quiet household with no children.
If you  think you have the time, patience and experience for a dog like Heidi, then please contact us.  She is such a special dog who deserves a good home so much and in time we know she is going to make someone the most fantastic companion and addition to their family.

If you are interested in Heidi please call 07748 629202 to speak to a member of the dog team during our opening hours.

Suki

Poor Suki (18 month German Shepherd Dog) has had an unsettled life and has missed out on some aspects of her socialisation whilst growing up.  Her new owner will need to be experienced with shepherds and have a clear yet calm approach.  She is an active girl and can be quite anxious so will need plenty of time to settle in.  Suki will suit more quiet and rural walking areas and being a little bouncy, would suit an adult only environment.  Suki has so much potential and a wonderful eagerness to please which makes her a very attentive and keen girl to train. Once settled into her new life, Suki will make a fabulous companion. She will probably need to be the only dog in the home though could possibly live with a 'strong' male dog, please ask staff for more info. She would not be able to live with a cat.

If you are interested in Suki please call 07748 629202 to speak to a member of the dog team during our opening hours.

See suki below having lots of fun on her walk!

Shandy
Shandy

Shandy is a very pretty 10 month old english bull terrier x, who has had a bit of an unsettled time in her short life and is desperate to find her forever home as soon as possible! She's a typical lively youngster who would thoroughly enjoy any further training her new owner could offer her, alongside plenty of exercise. Shandy loves everybody she meets and has a very affectionate, cuddly side to her but due to her bouncy nature she may better suit living with older children. She could live with another social, adult dog/ dogs and possibly with a confident cat that's used to dogs but this would depend upon further assessment. Shandy is so eager to please and her tail never stops wagging! She is sure to bring lots of fun to her new family and she will win you over with her great character!

If you are interested in Shandy please call 07748 629202 to speak to a member of the dog team during our opening hours.

See Shandy below, desperate for a good game!!

Dakota

Unfortunately we know little of Dakota's past. She is approximately 1 year old Lurcher X. She took a couple of days to settle in and can be a little timid and jumpy around new people, but is a very friendly dog, who just needs plenty of space. She loves a good stretch of her legs so is looking for an active owner who will enjoy her playful, energetic and well mannered personality. She would enjoy a doggy companion in her new home and will make a super, fun companion to her new owner. She may be able to live with older teenagers and with a confident cat who has a sensible/experienced owner.

If you are interested in Dakota please call 07748 629202 to speak to a member of the dog team during our opening hours.

Crystal

3 year old Crystal is a lovely, affectionate girl who is desperate to find herself new owners preferably with some experience of her breed. She is friendly & sociable with people she meets but due to her lively bouncy nature would be best suited to a home with older children if any. Her ideal home will be with active owners who's walking will be nice & rural. She is a bright girl who would love some fun reward based training & will make a fantastic companion in a SBT experienced home. To be rehomed as an only pet (no cats or dogs).

If you are interested in Crystal please call 07748 629202 to speak to a member of the dog team during our opening hours.

Walter (Reserved)

Walter is a 3 yr old lurcher so is very active boy looking for the outdoorsy lifestyle! He would love a home where he can be out and about for most of the day then come home for a fuss on the sofa! He's a confident dog who's friendly with everyone he meets but as we have little history on Walter he may be best to live with teenagers but this can be discussed with the kennel staff. He could live with another confident dog, preferably female or a multi dog household. Walter is desperate to meet his new owners soon & will no doubt make a great pet.

If you are interested in Walter please call 07748 629202 to speak to a member of the dog team during our opening hours.

See Walter meeting his new friends below.

Molly (reserved)

2 year old Molly is a really lovely dog with a great character. She is friendly & happy with all she meets so would love a home where someone is around a lot of the time to give her the cuddles she so enjoys! Unfortunately Molly does have a heart problem which would mean she cannot have huge quantities of exercise but she does very much enjoy her calm country walks. She could live with other dogs & possibly a confident cat. Whoever takes Molly on will be getting a super little dog & a very loving, loyal companion.

If you are interested in Molly please call 07748 629202 to speak to a member of the dog team during our opening hours.

Bizla new

Unfortunately we have little history on Bizla, a 2 yr old crossbreed, but we have found her to be a friendly, outgoing dog who will fit in well in an active household who enjoy lots of exercise! She has been sociable with dogs and could happily live with another male dog but no cats!

Bizla would thoroughly enjoy some brain training as she is an intelligent girl and is quick to learn. Bizla would probably better suit living with older children due to her bouncy nature but she is a very sweet girl who loves attention and is sure to make a great new addition to the family.

If you are interested in Bizla please call 07748 629202 to speak to a member of the dog team during our opening hours.
